Heat pump installation

Green Air Technologies are installers of Daikin Air source heat pumps. Here are some of the basics:

How do Heat Pumps work?

Basically like a fridge in reverse!
A heat pump contains refrigerant, which is colder that the outside air (boiling point -48.5 C). Air is drawn into a heat exchanger where the refrigerant absorbs the latent heat from the outside air and evaporates.
The vaporised refrigerant is then compressed increasing its pressure and temperature, (effectively concentrating the heat).
This hot vapour is condensed in the second heat exchanger and the heat is then transferred to water for space heating or domestic hot water after which the vapour condenses back into a liquid.
The liquid refrigerant passes back through an expansion valve, ready to start the cycle again.

Main benefits of Daikin Heatpumps
They provide great savings on hot water and heating costs.
Easy retrofit, they can be used as a direct replacement for your oil/gas burners and use your existing radiators.
Very high efficiency.
It is a renewable technology, so no more need for Fossil Fuels.
Heat pumps will improve your homes BER and its value.
They automatically adjust to the outside temperature.
They are low maintenance and require minimal servicing.
They are particularly suited to underfloor heating systems.
